Privacy Notice
Last updated 10 August 2026
This explains what we collect when you use remismeals.com, why we collect it, and how to stop it or have it deleted. It describes what the site does today — not what we might do later.
1Who we are
Remis Meals UAE is a nutrition and meal-preparation service operating in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. In this notice, "we", "us" and "our" mean Remis Meals UAE.
We are the data controller for the information described here — we decide what is collected and why, and we are responsible for looking after it. We handle personal data in line with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data.
You can reach us about anything in this notice at [email protected].
2We are not a medical practice
Remis Meals is a nutrition and meal-prep service, not a medical practice. We do not diagnose, prescribe, or replace medical care. Consult your doctor before changing your diet or medication.
3What we collect
Automatically, from the moment the page loads
We run our own analytics on this site. We do not use Google Analytics. Collection begins when the page loads, before you interact with the cookie banner — the banner is a notice with an opt-out, not a gate. Section 4 explains how to stop it.
- Your IP address, and the approximate location derived from it (typically city level)
- Your browser, device type and user agent
- Which pages and sections you viewed, how far you scrolled, how long you stayed, and what you clicked
- How you reached the site — the referring page and any campaign parameters in the link
We ask for precise GPS location only if a feature needs it, and only through your browser's own permission prompt. If you decline, we do not get it.
If you take the symptom quiz
The quiz asks about your condition and symptoms — whether you have Crohn's disease or Ulcerative Colitis, whether you are in remission, pain, bowel movements, blood, and for Crohn's, fistula. This is health information, which is sensitive personal data under UAE law.
Your answers are saved as you go, including if you do not finish. If you answer two questions and close the tab, those two answers are stored. We are telling you this because it is the part people least expect. If you would rather they were not kept, email us and we will delete them — see section 6.
If you fill in a form
Your name, your email address, and what you told us you were asking about — the area you want us to deliver to, or the condition you want us to cover.
Advertising measurement
The site has Meta advertising measurement built in. It is not currently active — it has no credentials configured and sends nothing. If we switch it on, it will run only where you have not rejected marketing in the banner, and we will update this notice.
Payments
We are not taking payments yet. When we do, they will be handled by a third-party payment provider and we will not receive or store your full card number.
4Your choices, and what opting out does
The cookie banner has two switches: analytics and marketing. You can change either at any time using "Cookie preferences" in the footer of any page.
Rejecting takes effect immediately and mid-session. The site stops collecting, and our server independently stops accepting telemetry for your session, so an open tab cannot keep sending.
What we already collected before you rejected is kept. That is what an opt-out means, and we would rather say it plainly than let you assume otherwise. If you reject analytics after loading a page, the IP address and events recorded up to that moment stay in our records.
If you want them gone, ask us and we will delete them — see section 6. That request always works, whatever your banner settings say.
Form and quiz submissions are not covered by the banner. If you fill something in and send it, that is you asking us to do something, so we keep it — until you ask us to delete it.
5Why we use it, and who sees it
- To answer your enquiry and tell you when we open in your area
- To build and adjust a meal plan around your condition, once you are a customer
- To understand how the site is used and make it better
- To meet legal, tax and food-safety obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
It is handled on our behalf by the companies that run our infrastructure — our website host and content network, our database provider, and our email provider. They act on our instructions and may store data outside the UAE. Where that happens we rely on the contractual protections in our agreements with them.
Health information gets tighter handling: it is used to build your plan and reviewed by our nutritionist, and it is not used for advertising.
6Deleting your information
Email [email protected] and tell us what you want deleted. It is free. We will action it within 30 days and confirm when it is done. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we do not delete someone's information at the wrong person's request.
You do not need an account, and you do not need to have been a customer. If you took the quiz and did not finish, that counts too.
One limit: UAE tax and commercial law requires us to keep financial and transaction records for a minimum period, currently at least five years. We cannot delete those before then, and they are not used for anything else.
7Your other rights
Under UAE data protection law you can ask us to:
- Access — give you a copy of what we hold about you
- Correct — fix anything wrong or incomplete
- Restrict — limit how we use it
- Object — stop a particular use
- Transfer — provide it in a portable format
- Withdraw consent — at any time, taking effect going forward
Email us and we will handle it. If you are not satisfied with how we respond, you can complain to the UAE Data Office.
8How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and quiz information until you ask us to delete it, or until it is clearly no longer needed. We keep analytics information only for as long as it is useful for understanding how the site is used. Financial records are kept for the statutory period in section 6.
9Children
This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
10Arabic, and changes to this notice
This notice is published in English. If you would prefer a copy in Arabic, email [email protected] and we will send you one.
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Where the law requires your consent for something new, we will ask before we start.
